Thanks to generous support from the Open Society Initiative for West Africa, the weekly series showcased the enormous potential of the news and political satire format to inform audiences about current affairs and involve youth on the issues that matter to them.
Hosted by Okey Bakassi, The Other News premiered on 20 July, 2017 only on Channels TV. It is available on all major social media platforms @theothernewsCTV.
An average of 1 million viewers tuned in to The Other News to laugh, learn and catch breaking news. By the season finale, the show recorded an average audience of 1.7 million viewers. The Other News was picked up by local sponsors and advertisers for a second season.
