Where Journalism & Comedy Meet

In early October 2017, PMI advisory board member Keli Dailey spoke about the intersection between journalism and comedy on The Agenda with Steve Paikin on the Canadian TV channel TVO.

"Holding the powerful accountable is what I like most about journalism, and definitely about comedy," said Keli.

The episode delved deep into the effects of comedy and satire at a time where people consume news from a myriad of traditional and new media.

When asked about the overlap of traditional journalism and current affairs comedy Keli replied, "Comedy is a way to give you the cathartic experience as well as the information."

When current affairs is packaged organically with comedy, it helps viewers enjoy the media experience, retain information and share the content with friends and family because of its fun nature, she added.

When not serving on PMI's advisory Board, Keli is an educator at St. Mary's College in California.
